The ultrasonic algae control devices from LG Sonic emit specific ultrasonic parameters to control algae. Ultrasound waves create a sound layer in the top layer of the water, which has a direct impact on the buoyancy of the algae. The algae cells will sink to the deeper and darker layers of the water column and are unable to photosynthesise, thus will eventually die due to a lack of light.
