Reverse osmosis water is not ...
Published by Charles Bensinger, Director of Water Analytics
Reverse osmosis water is not recommended for long-term drinking purposes. It's "synthetic water" and does not exist in nature. It's devoid of the important trace minerals needed by the body. It's sometimes called "hungry water" in that it steals vital minerals from the body to make itself whole. You will need to add minerals such as calcium and magnesium and this will increase the TDS. Higher TDS can be a good thing.
