Good day, we recently quoted on a 10MLD, activated sludge process,in South Africa. The total quotation was R95m ZAR, which calculates to R 7.3m USD, for the complete installation. Final effluent qualities were COD > 25mg/l,nitrate (as N) > 1.5mg/l, Suspended Solids 10mg/l, Faecal Coli-forms per 100ml>0. This was a turn key contract, which included all the civil, earthworks, mechanical and piping. 

The main differentiation in terms of capex globally is based around the technology used, this tender was a open tender which allowed each supplier to offer their specific technology, but the final effluent must be guaranteed regardless of the technology offered.

The difference was in terms of capex was astounding, it went from USD 2m per 1ML, to USD 0.75m per 1ML.
