Diethanolamine(DEA) and methyldiethanolamine(MDEA) for activated sludge

Dear all,

In the refinery process, the diethanolamine(DEA) and methyldiethanolamine(MDEA) is use for absorb the H2S or CO2. when the amine is dirty and blow down,

1.is the activated sludge in the wastewater treatment plant a good option? the concentration of amine could be 100~1000 ppm.

2.is the 100~1000 ppm amine toxic or metabolism for activated sludge ?

Yes, the activated sludge in ...

Yes, the activated sludge in the wastewater treatment plant a good option, and about 300-400 ppm is better for metabolism more than this it is toxic. For safe limit after treatment, The maximum limit of biogenic amines generally considered to be safe for consumers is 10 mg/ L.However ,Fenton’s treatment would require a large amount of reagents to achieve complete degradation, coupling of this process with biological oxidation may be  carried out. Partially degraded DEA can  prepare by the Fenton’s process. can be partially degraded by the Fenton’s method without excessive consumption of reagents that would, in contrast, be required for complete degradation .
