Elevated temperatures of brine solution

Published by in Case Studies

Dear All,

I have a complicated problem in our ZLD system: the brine solution temperature is very high - 109 degree Celsius and is not decreasing by vacuum as normal.

The main compositions of brine are calcium sulphates and chlorides and sodium sulphates and chlorides with traces of silica.

Can you advice please what is the expected reason for this issue?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Best Regards

Out box thought - What is ...

Out box thought - What is the concentration of Calcium sulfate, Chloride & Sodium sulfate & chloride? Calcium sulphate is sparingly (0.24g/100 ml). Its Solubility decreases with increase in temperature. It can be removed by precipitation. Sodium chloride solubility is higher than sodium sulfate. You can use this for removal / recovery of the salts from water.

Vacuum is will must not given ...

Vacuum is will must not given impact to the temperature, it's just reduce the pressure and must makes decrease of of boiling point. It's look like required of the HE/Cooler to reduce your target temperature .
