Agreeing with the alternatives exposed by Cotruvo, Anderson and Meredith, it would be interesting to know the source quality.
For instance let us assume a very hard (but exempt of toxic or other undesirable substances) source quality, say a 200 ppm Ca water feed. A 10% side stream of not RO treated water (the source water) remixed with the RO accept to give you the total flow will have the wanted content of Calcium.
Advantage: you do not need to add any purchased material, and you reduced the load of the RO by 10%.

Do you think the seawater would be ​remixed , while the TDS is 36,000 ppm?
