The first place statement is quite correct. The lead in to this article makes a bold and correct viewpoint. But then the article shifts to water companies instead of the consumer.  This 1950's technology is costly, destructive of the environment, and very unhealthy. Microbial cleaning of potable drinking water has been around for 50 years at least.  This includes water being taken in from multiple sources and all waste water cleaned in situ and repurposed /put back into the potable water system.  Yes education is still a first step. But not how to be socially engineered for the profit margin of a chemical company.  Yes the technology is so simple anyone can be their own water conservationist. ( septic tank water photo ). Enjoy.
