MABR (Membrane Aerated Biofilm Ractor) is the next generation decentralized treatment. Energy consumption is just 10 percent of conventional processes (about 0.1 kWhr per m3 treated), total nitrogen removal is built into the process, the plant is modular, enabling gradual expantion, effluent quality is very high, CAPEX and OPEX are low.
