Many solutions are available, either compact (anaerobic or aerobic) or extensive (constructed wetland). Depending on your situation, I think you should prioritize extensive solution, as OPEX fit with remote areas and as this solution is often simpler for locals to fix.

If not possible, you could focus on the compact solution. However you will need energy supply and, from my experience, be careful as equipments often suffer from a lack of maintenance which make the installation fail after a few months/years.
