Does anyone have any available technology for treating wastewater generated from approx 10 households?
We are actively looking for these micro sewage treatment stations to be provided to remote areas.
To areas that are disconnected from any municipal network, especially in Africa and Asia.
The Solution should be economical from both a Capex and Opex standpoints and easy to install in existing buildings/homes. Looking forward to see what solution are available in the market. Share technology details as well, to check the feasibility of the technology.
For Single house hold unit one can use Dewats based on recycle plastic drums of 3 nos 600 mm dia @250 ltr and 4 Nos 900 mm dia @575 ltr. With Connection pvc pipe of 75 mm dia. very easy and very cost effective, you can use the recycle water for irrigation and gardening purpose. there is no need of any energy consumption for this treatment. for further details contact on jgoyani@yahoo.com
We represent to supply small micro stp's exactly what you are looking for to cater to small households in remote locations.. The treated weste water will be fit for reuse and also there will bo no issue in case of low or no flow and system can resume when flows resume .
Please ahve a look at www.clearford.com we are currently doing just such a project in a village of 56 homes and a small local school having a population of between 250-300. We are putting in our smart digesters which are anaerobic biodigesters that do not use cultured bacteria, a pipe network and a structured wetland at the end so that the water can be reused for local agriculture. The project was done keeping in mind the paying capacity both in terms of CAPEX and OPEX and we currently anticipate OPEX will be in the order of INR 1000/month (USD 15-16/month) for the entire community excluding the cost of hiring a local handyman to maintain. You can reach me at sdeshpande@clearford.com and I have attached a document that describes the project.
if the houses have septic tanks. there are boreactors that can be lowered and cost only about $1000 a house at distributor prices. to get lower odor, sludge, bod, cod, ammonia and tn.
we are looking for dealers and distributors if there are any interested. biocleaner.com
Dear Laurent, We have the perfect solution for you. Our STP plants can work for an individual household to an entire community. Completely automated with lowest opex cost. Please send me a mail on vijay@aquasphere.co.in and I will send you the details.
If your remote areas are like those I serve in, for Rotary WaSH projects, a group sanitation system for a cluster of homes is probably too expensive for them to afford either capital or operating cost; not to mention the lack of local technolgy for parts, service and repair. I would consider something much more simple and primitive, like a UDDT with solar dryer to accelerate solid waste, using diluted urine for home garden fertilizer, or maybe microflush toilet (popular in Ghana, we may be trying some in Tanzania). They can collectively have one person manage all, or by the household.
We manufacture compact sewage treatment plants based on non biological - Electro-chemistry based STP (XERODROP- our brand). The system is compact and scalable. Simple automation is also possible to suite your requirements. The best part of the system is that it does not need open tanks and aeration systems and there is no pungent smell of the sewage. The output water is disinfected and ready to be used for gardens or irrigation or toilet flush or any non potable use.
We would appreciate a direct email to me on aeolus.bioenergy@gmail.com for more details on the XERODROP systems for compact STP. We have attached herewith a photograph of a plant prepared as a donation to a rural school in India.
