Since the water supply is intended for drinking, it's concerning that you say the groundwater source has "various loads like iron". Iron can impart an unpleasant taste, but is not a particular health threat. However, groundwater sources can be contaminated with other substances (e.g. bacteria and viruses) that may be a health threat, as well as other organic and inorganic compounds that could be a serious health threat in sufficient concentrations. If you have not already done so, you should have the water analysed by a competent laboratory so that these threats can be assessed. Once this information is available, it will be much easier to recommend a treatment strategy.
