Hi Mwamba,  I hope you can find an alternative to chlordane soon - it is an insecticide that is  now prohibited in many countries.  Being an organo-chloride complex, you could remove it with activated carbon (either powdered or with a granular activated carbon filter column).  AC can also remove heavy metals - but you need to check with the suppliers if the brand they supply can absorb heavy metals.  Not sure why you want to remove chlorides, you should also let us know what the associated cations are (probably sodium, but could be potassium, calcium or magnesium?).  This may affect your removal options.  Ion exchange can be considered.
