I agree that affirmative actions start with self. The application of all that has been researched and document can only be strategically implemented by individuals, first on individual levels and this flows to community level. Water conservation means using water in the most sustainable ways, recycling water when and where possible and identifying where to use minimal water domestically.
Once we get to conserve water as individuals, then we can contribute towards the community. Some homes in the rural areas do laundry alongside rivers. The community can designate specific washing areas that does not back flow to the river, instead this water can be redirected to water non-consumable plants, these plants can be sold by the local community and can also be used to contribute towards afforestation and reforestation.

Good to know about this matter. I agree 100 % with the comment. We must start with charity at home.
During our college days our Pro Vice Chancellor told us to save water when we are at Wash basin. Do not kee water running when you are at Wash basin.
